Since moving to Monmouth Kipp has lived alone with only the company of his humans and my neighbour’s sheep. I was very conscious of him not having any equine company so began in February to put out feelers for a young Ardennes preferably unbroken who could come and join us. A horse I could bring on quietly to join Kipp and share the work load. Unbelievably with some fantastic help from a work colleague with good contacts on the continent, Sol, a young Ardennes stallion appeared, within a few weeks of beginning the search. Photos and lots of information were supplied by someone who was able to view him for me in Belgium and with some sound advice and a vetting I decided to go forward with buying him without being able to journey to see him for myself. At two and a half years old, unbroken and from a strong working background it seemed the right decision. As soon as he came down off the lorry though I knew he was the right horse for me.
