Kipp and I were fortunate enough to be invited to join Daniel Brown on a contract for Test Valley Borough Council, working in woodlands near Chandlers Ford. We spent two and a half months extracting a variety of hard woods from woodlands that had been unmanaged for a long time and also contained the site of an Iron Age fort, thought to be one of the original gateways into the New Forest. Kipp and I did a lot of Arch work leaving Dan to work with his much more experienced Suffolk, Titan, concentrating on parbuckling out the larger pieces on a forwarder. Occasionally on the heavier pieces we worked the horses together in tandem. This was all excellent experience for us with the opportunity to use a variety of working methods.
